Purulia District Chess Championship was held at the Railway Higher Secondary School in Anara. Apart from a few guest players from Asansol and Kolkata, 87 participants from Purulia, Jhalda, Manbazar, Raghunathpur, Anara Adra and Bandwan contested for District Championship.
The winners of the tournament were:

The event was well organized by the Purulia District Chess Association. Tapan Dasgupta, Vice President of BCA, Sandip Debnath and Damodar Kumar officiated in the event.
